This is a fairly easy walk along tracks (a shooters’ track & a green trod) and the Pennine Way. The walk follows a mixture of footpaths and quiet roads. There are some sections that are often muddy and wet and there are some streams to cross. Sturdy comfortable waterproof walking boots are strongly recommended, and for the stepping stones, a walking pole or a towel (for those who prefer to paddle) might be a good idea. We would expect the walk to take approximately 4 hours
Who can take part?
If you think the walk is suitable for you, then you are welcome to take part! There is no membership, or commitment to come on future walks, and no need to register in advance, just turn up on the day. The walk is free however voluntary donations of £1.00 are welcomed to help cover our insurance costs and other overheads.
The suggested minimum age for participants is 11 for this walk, but all under-18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Unfortunately we are unable to accept unaccompanied children or dogs..
